... I was reluctant to take an anti-depressant for meno symptoms also, but my moods were out of control. I had to do something. Lexapro has worked wonders on the mood swings and I have not gained weight from it. I had my meno pouch before Lexapro... if anything I've lost since being on Lexapro because when my moods lifted I was able to get/stay on an exercise routine. I know... (4 replies)
... I'm sorry if I led you to believe you WILL have more anxiety before Zoloft kicks in. It might, it might not. I didn't have a problem with that. Just take xanax or tranxene until they kick in and you'll be fine. If you are truly anxious, I don't see why you'd want to waste two weeks taking magnesium. ... (3 replies)
... My doctor just put me on Zoloft for anxiety. I'm 52 and going through menopause. He said the Zoloft would help and that he thinks Zoloft is the best SSRI to use for anxiety. Just his opinion. I asked about Lexapro and he said he thinks Zoloft works better specifically for anxiety. ... (3 replies)

... h and COULD NOT BREATHE! They told me to stop the Paxil, never take it again. This was the beginning of a downward spiral of doctors trying me on Celexa, Zoloft, Xanax and some other drugs that landed me in bed for 3 months and back and forth to the emergency room with more very severe panic attacks. ...
