... TY for the quick response. Kind of frustrating, from one case to the next...one neuro to the next...one facility to next, access to this kind of panel LGMD test differs I guess. My neuro has never said a word about it. In fact, through my own research I realized this kind of test is even out there, but my understanding is not all places have enough funding to be running this... (2 replies)

... Hello, My mother has limb girdle, but she's never been tested, so doesn't know !which type. I have the symptoms (primarily shoulder muscle weakness). I went to a physiatrist, and she ordered blood tests (not genetic, but testing for muscle enzymes). ... ctor told me I could possibly have a mild form of it, or be a carrier, but I have not been tested. There is a simple blood test you could have done to check the enzymes in your muscles. It is called a CPK blood test. If it is elevated, your doctor would probally order a DNA test or a muscle biopsy. ... (6 replies)
