... My daughter was diagnosed in 2009 (age 11) and has at least one major flare up a year. Up until this year she was treated with steroids. Gained a tremendous amount of weight and all the sef-esteem issues associated with it. It has taken us 4 years to find a regiment of steroidal drops which keep the eyes open and IBuprofen 600 for the pain. Can't seem to find an expert. (13 replies)

So sorry to hear you have Orbital Myositis also known as Psudo Tumor I have battled this debilitating desease for over 20 years and try to avoid Prednisone (steroid) as much as possible because of the dreadfull side affects but some of the lucky ones do and have either kept the condition at bay or are "cured" with just one dose. ... I just had an MRI of the brain and orbits on Friday and the radiologist wrote it could be "orbital pseudo tumor" or "orbital myositis". I have had symptoms in my right eye ( eye bulge/double vision/now headaches) going back at least 1 year. I saw an eye doctor Friday afternoon and am undergoing lab tests tomorrow for Graves Disease.
