Fingernail fungus?

... I have a small DARK green or brown spot (not yellow) on three on my fingernails, on both hands. This has disintergrated the nail to make a small hole in the nail, about a centimeter. Everything I read about fungus talks about starting at the tip, not in the center, and is light green or yellowish. I have seen nails like those: not what I have. What is this and how do I fix it....
