About six days ago I noticed a slight, continuous fluttering about 1-2 centimeters under my bottom left eye. Its especially noticable when I smile. The fluttering has persisted and increased. I can't think of any type of trauma that could have brought this about. It is now starting to bother me as the movement increases. Does anyone know what this could be or what I can do to stop it? Im really nervous.

Hi I have had the same thing for about 3-4 weeks now. Im currently going through a diognose for MS so this could be one of the symptoms for me. But not neccesarily the same for you. You can have this for being over tired and not getting enough rest, or maybe stressed out as well. But I wouldn't get worried about it I know people who have had it before as well, my uncle had it and he had a tooth pulled that was bothering him and his went away so anybody can get it. It's called blefour spasm I'm not sure on the spelling but thats what its called. Hope this helps if your still unsure go to the eye doctor and have your eyes checked. Good Luck.
My eye does the twitching/fluttering when I am having bad anxiety issues. We are so tense with anxiety and we don't even know hoe badly our muscles are affected.
I am reading this a few months late, but I have the same thing - have had it for over a week. Has it stopped for you?

I saw my doctor - he told me cold compresses, when that didn't work, he said see an eye doctor. The eye doctor told me warm compresses. My next stopp is a neurologist, but I will wait a week or so before I call.
Could be a potassium deficiency. You might try to eat more bananas or potatoes, or add just a pinch of "No-salt" to a glass of water and stir. Magnesium supplements are also good. ;)
