i have neuropthy all caused by b12 deficiency, they say im not diabetic (yet runs in the family) the doc at my last nerve conduction test says i have one of the worst cases she has seen... anyway, ive been on neurotin, and the lyrica/cymbalta combo. pain management has me on 15 mg extended release morphine and 100 mg nuycenta for breakthru pain... the morphine doen't even touch the pain, nuycenta works some but for a very short period. the most painful areas are both feet and both hands, some in the lower legs. curious as to what other meds anyone has had success with... there has to be something that will work... right??
I´m sorry to hear about your pain. I too have some nerve issues from prior B12 deficiency but not as bad as you.

You didn´t mention it, but I assume you are on vitamin B12 shots and/or high-dose B12 tablets? Treatment with B12 can reverse some of the neuropathy symptoms, but unfortunately nerve damage than occurred a year or longer ago is unlikely to be reversible.

It is quite common for neuropathy due to vitamin B12 deficiency to be misdiagnosed as various neurologic conditions (diabetic neuropathy, idiopathic and other kinds of neuropathy, MS, etc) or wrongly attributed to other conditions (including fibromyalgia, or even depression/anxiety).

Apart from pain meds, excercise may help if you are able to do it, and psychological techniques such as finding distractions can help.
