I have just been suspected having CIDP by my neurologist and he wants to try 80 mg Depo-medrol....he is not sure of the diagnosis and so does not wish to try oral steroids or High dose of iv-methyl prednisolone.(solu-medrol) Can anyone please advise...Has Depo-medrol been used in CIDP. ... Hi Miss Diagnosed.. I am truly sorry for your pain suffering and dealings with Dr's that are non caring. I have nonsystemic vascultic, small fiber neuropathy and auto immune neuropathy. It took me a few Dr's to get rid of. My new DR's proved to be my right choices. They understand my disease and medications and tests etc... I don't have MS but there is a chance I have CIDP.... ... Hi. I do have IVIG which i've had for the last 2yrs. Was having every 4 wks but now been cut to 8 weeks due to the cost. I was told that IVIG could cause blood clots so I have a Claxane injection before each infusion. I'm not sure what Claxane is but they always give it people who come in with DVT. ... texasgirl....yes its quite possible alot of CIDP is remitting/relasping. Also the same T-Cells that attacked when she had GBS have memory so possibly something is causing the inflammation again hence the attacks... She should see a neurologist and get an EMG and an NCV to see whats going on..... (2 replies)
