Hi, an overnight fasting glucose test is not the best test for prediabetes or full blown diabetes 2, a 2 or 3 hour glucose tolerance test is the way to go, that 143 fasting level was a bit high and should have prompted the doc to investergate further. You need to see a neuro that specializes in neuropathy, not just a normal neuro, then you will get all the tests needed to... (2 replies)

... I am new to the board also. I've had two EMG's done. Yes they are painful, but not to the point of not taking it because of the discomfort. Knowing what's happening to your body after the test is done and the peace of mind you'll have outweighs not taking the test. (25 replies)
