... Hi: When someone is referring to specialty pharmacies, all that means is a medical distributor provides the med, and mails it to you usually via Fed Ex. Some insurance co.'s, like mine, uses a specialty pharmacy to fulfill the prescription. I use CareMark, for the Forteo, but all they do is fill the rx and mail it to me, in ice, with a bill, and they don't do any kind of... (8 replies)

... I will probably only have to pay a $20 copay per month if I make the final decision to go on Forteo, as my doctor has suggested. They hold classes on it at the medical center I go to, and I'm going to one of March 9. The first month supply is free under that arrangement, which I'm sure will help, but my doctor must tell my script insurance company why I need to go on it,... (8 replies)

... Hi: Your mom is really lucky she can get it free... I don't know why it's so expensive, except that it's a genetically engineered drug. My Dr can only give me one free every 3 months, because she has plenty of others taking it so it has to be divided evenly. ... Hi Aleta: When I went to the class they told us to leave the needle in to the count of 5, but I worried about counting too fast and whether I was getting the whole shot. Anyway I now count to 10 and am sure I'm getting it all.
