how long should it take for patient to receive cervical biopsy results
I had a cervical and endometrial biopsy last Thursday. My results are supposed to be in today (Tuesday). In my case that would be less than a week, better than I thought it would be. I'm SO nervous and refuse to leave the house as I don't want to miss the call.

waiting...waiting...waiting...

Good luck with yours...
I got my results from my colposcopy and ECC after 4 or 5 work days. I got the results from my cone bipsy after 5 days. The results from my hysterectomy came in within 5 days, also.

I am terrible about waiting. For all 3 results, I called the office starting at day 3 or 4. I figure if I call them then I'm in a little more control of knowing when/how I'm told about my results.

Thanks so much! I haven't heard anything, and it's been four and a half weeks!

Wow Kitty, give that office a call to see what's up. I would have gone nuts by now. Heck, mine were supposed to be in yesterday but weren't. I waited until 2:00 and gave them a call...not in...will call again at 2:00 today to check again. I don't have a good feeling about this...but then again I've been wrong in the past. At least today I'm leaving the house, increasing the chance that they'll call - isn't that how it works?
Thanks for your message. it's a famous hospital, so I trust that no news is good news, and that they'll just send a letter, I actually received a letter last time informing me that I had abnormal pap, as well as HPV, and needed to schedule a colposcopy. was a little upset that I didn't get at least a phone call so that I could ask questions! it's kind of annoying, if I don't get a letter today, I will call them.
Please don't leave it up to them to contact you. You don't want to be the one report that didn't get followed up on. Be proactive and ask. It is better to ask them too often than to fall through a crack. If you are anxious about "bothering them" then ask how frequently you can call. And personally, if my calls "bother" my doctor's office staff, then I'm very likely to change doctors. But that's my two cents worth.

I hope you have news today!
