I believe the reason they are referring you for the D & C is dual - they will dilate/remove the scar tissue while you are under the anesthesia (would NOT want that done while awake/alert even if it could be done like that), plus do a fractional D & C of the bottom of your uterus where dysplasia and cancer could also potentially lurk, and get the biopsy samples while they are... The ONLY reason a red flag went up was because my doctor did the HPV/dna test at my pap in December. It came back high risk HPV.
