Don't ever feel pressured into anything like major surgery until you seek a second opinion. If he is so sure it is cancer, I would recommend tracking down a gyn onc immediately.

About two weeks ago I was diagnosed with AIS. I went directly to an ob/gyn oncologist and am having a cone/top hat/leep done on Friday. I am 32, newly engaged and would love to have one child soon (I have none thus far), so I am hoping to avoid the hysterectomy at this point. I have a couple of requests from other AIS patients:

I was finally able to get to sleep after doing so. I did stress all day, even though I tried so hard not to. The doctor called at 5:30p.

... Lovethoscurls, I had carcinoma in situ in my endocervical canal & it was treated with a deep LEEP with a double pass/top hat. My Dr. found this when doing the colposcopy pre-LEEP. He had done the endocervical curettage during the colposcopy.
