... I worry about my liver because percocet is acemetaphine partly and for the past two years I've taken alot of it after my accident. I still take it but not as much as my doc prescribed oxycontin.. ... (11 replies)
... Is this too much acemetaphine at once? ... (10 replies)
... Hello All I am building up an immunity to Acemetaphine and currently taking anywhere from 2-3 g of it at a time to treat migraines. (Only once a day, maybe 3-4 times/week) My question is if I am doing any short term or long term damage to my liver? Also, what is the damage to my liver in this amount as compared to alcohol? In other words, I have friends that may drink a... (11 replies)

... hey feelbad thanks for all that feedback. good stuff. sounds like you're very weary of tylenol. what about regular drinkers? does that affect the liver as much (or more) than the regular consumers of tylenol? (10 replies)
... Hey rdt! Thank you for the heads up about the Milk Thistle! I learn so much on this board, I give thanks for having you all in my life every day. Thanks again! Fabby :::::Waving at my girl Marcia  (10 replies)
... hey DDD,just an FYI here for ya.when taken on an occasional basis and not a daily or chronic basis, that max amount IS 4000mgs BUT when taken on a constant basis to try and manage chronic pain that max level does go down a bit to only 3000mgs.it all comes down to the chemical needed to actually metabolize the apap.it gets and stays more depleted when it gets used up on a... ... Hey Fab First off, thanks for the feedback. I do drink a ton of water (more than you stated), dont drink alcohol much, and live a pretty healthy lifestyle otherwiseand take milk thistle occasionally, not reguarly. I had a couple Naturalpaths tell me that milk thistle loses it's effectiveness after a while and your liver build up an immunity to it, so I dont know what 2 a... (10 replies)
... This is a really good idea actually. I had my doctor switch me to Norco too. There is also a 7.5/325 Norco, which is what I was taking. (10 replies)
... Generic norco, which has the same ingredients as vicodin (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) has a lower amount of acetaminophen (generic tylenol).... 325 mg. It comes in 5/325 or 10/325. I was using the 10/325 for BT and breaking them in half, so I was only getting 162.5 mg of acetaminophen per dose. My pain doc strongly believes in limiting the acetaminophen due to... (10 replies)
... Hey rtd, Fabby is right on about trying to protect your liver. You may want to consider getting N-Acetyl-Cysteine from the health food store. This is the precursor to the enzyme that safely breaks down the acetaminophen, and is what is given in the ER for acetaminophen overdose. One thing Fabby, asking for Hydrocodone without acetaminophen makes sense from our point of view,... (10 replies)
... RT, You can also have your doctor write your prescriptions for hydrocodone only, you'll have to look around to find a compounding pharmacy (one that makes up some of their own pills) and the cost is a little more, but you can get hydro without the apap in it. They also make hydro with ibuprophin (spelling?) and I think with aspirin. You might want to ask your doctor... (10 replies)
... I believe the max is 4000 not 3000. I will say that my GP thinks you should keep it at 2,500 below a day -- his feels that you liver needs to last you a life time. Best not to push the limit every day. (10 replies)
... You should be fine, but it's always good to be aware of what youre putting into your body and what it can do. I am in the same boat, and I make sure to drink at least 4 8oz. glasses of water a day, avoid all alcohol, and I also take milk thistle, its an herbal suppliment that is great for the liver. I take 2 a day, you can get it at walmart or anywhere herbal suppliments... (10 replies)
... That's my understanding. 2,500mg would be well within the boundaries. But I don't think you want to be taking the 2,500 all in one dose. The intent is to spread out the tablets at about 1,000mg at a crack (two extra strength tylenol tabs). What I've read also says that alcohol and acetaminophen together are very bad for the liver. I don't know how much of each it would... (11 replies)
... The max daily dose of acetaminophen (Tylenol) is 4,000 mg. That would be 8 max strength tabs per day. Any more than that and you're risking liver damage. (11 replies)
... Marcia...yes, talking about Tyelnol. Sorry about the confusion. Thanks (11 replies)
... are you talking about actual tylenol or a totally different drug with that particular name?when it comes to spelling any med names, any misspellings can make it something completely different, but i am thinking this is tylenol we are talking about?please correct me if i am wrong, just a bit confusing for me here.thanks,Marcia (11 replies)
