... which just compounds the problem. Unfortunately, it's a matter of time and patience, both of which I'm sure you've had enough of already. But really, the sternum has to heal like any other bone and with the pressure of breathing it's being "traumatized" a little with each breath. But it will get better in due time. ... (4 replies)

... not the dr., but from what I've seen working in the open heart surgery suites, it would not be a good ideal at all to sleep on your stomach especially with your sternum and incision still very tender. ... (4 replies)
