... There is a difference between tylenol #3(with codeine) and vicodin(which contains hydrocodone). They are comparable in strength so I think that is what your doctor meant by they are the same. They are the same in strength. I get way too drowsy on tylenol #3 but I don't have the same side effect with vicodin but everyone's body reacts differently. brian (3 replies)
