... doc. Duration is the first sign of tolerance, It's still working, just not as long. I don't know when the right time to ask for an increase is, but Oxy comes in strengths up to 30 mgs per dose. Personally I think oxy is the longest lasting compared to oral morphine and dilaudid. The only thing else might be opana. ... (3 replies)

Duragesic patch (Brand) 50mcg 15/month = $533 fentanyl patch (generic) 50mcg 15/month = $208 fentanyl sucker/losenge 600mcg 30/month = $542 Opana ER (Brand) 30mg 2/day = $487 NO GENERIC OPANA... Also, I have seen many that take hydrocodone (Vicodin and Lortab are a hydro and tylenol mix), that the pharmacist compounds without tylenol. So there are still many options for you. LA meds are for chronic pain, not acute pain from something like a fracture or surgery that is expected to get better in a few weks or months. long acting meds aren't recomended for the short term treatment of severe acute pain.
