... Definitely get your doctor involved in this. It is within the pharmacy's right to refuse to fill a script, but you should have some options. Is this a new pharmacist there or did they cite some sort of policy change? Odd they would refuse something they have filled for you for many years.

... Kadian is wonderful for smoothness, unfortunately I only got to try it for a month before I had to switch. For me the only real difference was 2x a day vs 3x a day, and it didn't have the lulls that MS Contin has. ... (4 replies)
... ours out of Avinza, so it could be worth a try before going to a different med, assuming you were doing well on the Kadian. Interesting they won't cover generic Kadian but will cover the brand name Avinza. It must end up being cheaper for them. What does your doctor suggest? ... (2 replies)

Yes, for chronic pain which hasn't responded to other treatments a long acting med... (14 replies)
... I thought Dilaudid(hydromorphone) was still a SA(short acting) medication in that it lasts 4-6 hours. So you are basically taking 2 SA medications. It would make better sense to be on a LA med (like MS Contin, Kadian, Avinza) and Percocet for BT Pain. But I guess your doc knows what he is doing
