... I read that DP/DR is a kind of protective measure the brain induces when there is alot of stimuli. Still is is a very disturbing feeling. I've had it off/on for thirty years and just have resigned myself to the fact it is all part of the anxiety/panic syndrome. Just as some panic sufferers get dizzy, other ones get stomache problems; my anxiety expresses itself alot in DP.... (5 replies)

... Hi I am suffering from this also. I have been having bothe DP and DR during all times of the day with and without panic, although when I think about it, i bring on a panic attack. i havent felt normal in 2 weeks. i think mine is due to starting zoloft. i hate this, its so scary. i have a 2 yr old, and im scared i wont get to see him grow up, either ill go nuts or kill myself... ... Well I have been diagnosed with Panic Disorder and I frequently suffer from what I believe is depersonlization and/or derealization. It sucks so bad.
