... Hi, I'm 5 weeks preganant and for the last 2 weeks have suffered from insomnia- I'm only getting 2 hours sleep a night (if I'm lucky!) The doc can't give me any sleeping tablets , and I'm getting pretty desperate as I'm so tired.I dread night time! Anyone else have the same problem? Any ideas?(I've tried relaxation, milky drink,. warm bath etc etc (3 replies)

... Hi, I am just wondering if anyone else had problems sleeping. I'm only 5 weeks pregnant but can't seem to get a good nights sleep, I seem to fall asleep fast enough, but I wake up much earlier than I would like, and can't fall back into a deep sleep which in turn makes me sleepier than I already would be...all day long. Bad Insomnia!!

... Congratulations!! I can't really say. I know that in my first trimester (I am 22 wks now with my first) I had some trouble sleeping at night. I think it was mostly the excitement of this new phase of my life, and also my anxiety over thinking I would have morning sickness. I am so worn out during the day that I could sleep, but working full time and going to school full time and having a 5 year old and a husband that acts like a kid, I'm not able to nap much.
