... I believe an unfertilized egg is sluffed off prior to mestruation. Your period, and the blood that comes with it, is your uterine lining shedding because no fertilized egg has implanted itself - not your unfertilized egg itself. Someone pls correct me if I am wrong! P.S. I am now 17 weeks, and I have been bleeding the whole way through. Bleeding is due to a couple of... (13 replies)
... I'm 9 weeks today, and have been spotting / bleeding for the past 4 weeks. Two likely sources of blood - my cervix (had a LEEP September 13); and 2 subchorionic bleeds were found via u/s on my uterus (away from where the sac is). Does anyone know if it is okay to use tampons? (4 replies)
... It could be....i don't think they notice the tear, what is noticable is the blood that builds up. Atleast that is what i gathered, maybe it's too small to notice. What happened with me was i had a small tear and it slowly leaked out. I had one or two spots of red blood the rest was brown, i bleed for a total of maybe 2 weeks, i think it was more like a week. As far as what my... (8 replies)
... Maybe I have this, too. I have been spotting brown blood once a week (1-3days) for six weeks. I went to the ER on Friday and the doctor told me I had a small detachment. I went to my doctor yesterday. He said that he couldn't tell from thier scans and has me coming in for another u/s in two weeks. He said the placenta looked good (from what he could see) and he didn't... (8 replies)
... I had one at about 7wks, a small one. You didn't mention whether or not it was explained to you exactly what it was. It's basicly where a small portion of your placenta tears away, this is what causes the bleeding. Untill the bleeding stops it's recommended that you take it easy because you are at higher risk for misscarriage. If fetal heart was detected than you have a... (8 replies)
... Thank you soo much that felt so good to hear. I really apperciate it. Faith (8 replies)
... Not to worry too much. I had one as well. Found out about it at 7 weeks for my first ultrasound. They said if it burst, it could cause a miscarriage, but mine never did... they even seen it at a 36 week ultrasound.. still there, undisturbed. I think you should be alright. Good luck. (8 replies)

... It sounds like what you have is a threatened misscarriage (subchorionic bleed)...i had one when i was 7wks with my last pregnancy. It's basicly when a small portion of the placenta seperates and causes some bleeding. It's very common and lots of women go on to have healthy and normal pregnancies besides the bleeding. From the research i did when i had mine (although mine was... (3 replies)
