If, for example, when they rap your knee with the little mallet to check your reflexes, if your leg responds more than normal, it can be a sign of cervical cord compression. It is called hyper-reflexia.

While I was there and they were testing me out, the doctor asked me if I always had such brisk reflexes.
I think that is the word he used. Either that or hyper. He noticed it when he tapped that rubber thing on my knee joints in front.
