Yes, I know what you are talking about. I was recently asking about this but I really didn't get any responses. I had a flare that lasted a month. It just stopped just over a week ago for me.

My thyroid itself was tender and my lymph nodes were slightly swollen and tender and I could very much feel them. In addition to that, I felt like I had something stuck in my throat, I felt like someone hand their hands around my neck applying pressure and I lived like that for a month. All of this was more internal and there was really any visible external swelling.

Along with this period, I experienced low grade fevers, chills, bone and muscle aches that a person would normally experience when they have the flu. It would be off and on through the days. I saw my endo for a regular scheduled appt. during this period and I was likely going through an active antibody attack of the thyroid in which the antibodies attack, destroy, and eventually kill the thyroid.

I did not experience a hyper flare afterwards either. I hope this helps, you are not the only one.
