... If the Ortho is suggesting the pain might be referred from the thyroid to the spine, I suppose it's possible. Pain can refer to many different places and an inflamed thyroid can be quite painful. It certainly never hurts to get another opinion though. ... (9 replies)

I agree with Midwest's comments and would just add that 25 mcg Synthroid is a very low dose, and although your TSH has come down, it should come down further to around 1, so I think you will need a bump up on the dose to get to optimal treatment. The pain in neck is common. I found when my thyroid was inflamed and hurting/tender that an anti-inflammatory med like Naproxen... (4 replies)
