TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Message Board

TMJ Disorder -TemporoMandibular Joint Board Index

I've been dealing with this issue for about 6 months now and have seen at least 6 doctors and had countless appointments. I had one ENT doctor tell me my issues were TMJ related so I thought I'd ask here. My current symptoms are,

-Facial swelling on right cheek only. I can't smile straight anymore and it's always swollen to some degree. It's now to the point that I can't breath clearly through that nostril. I can feel it bulging around my eye. No swelling at jaw joint or around ear.
-Tightness on right side of throat and difficulty swallowing. When this happens I get very fatigued and dazed. I should add that while trying to figure out the swelling is it was discovered that I have an enlarged internal jugular vein on the right side between my ear and collar bone. My vascular surgeon doesn't believe it's related to the tightening feeling or facial swelling. The facial swelling often gets worse when my throat becomes tight, often for hours or days at a time. It also causes my face to "tingle" at times.
-Fullness in ear and crackling. It could be caused by my terrible environmental allergies and I have been on RX meds since June. Even with meds I still often have drainage straight into my right ear. If I use the neti pot or a nasal spray it will go straight to my ear and cause pain for days.
-Small "bump" at base of skull on right side. It's about three finger widths from my jaw bone and closer to my spine. Two doctors have said it was a swollen lymph node, two others said it wasn't but couldn't tell me what it was. Whatever it is it causes nerve pain down my arm and give me headaches on only the right side around the back of my head and into my eye.

Some TMJ symptoms I don't have, which is why I haven't pursued this route, are-
-Jaw pain and headaches in front of head.
-I can open my mouth quite wide with no pain.
-I've never had my jaw lock.

I'm planning on getting a second opinion about the vein. When I found out I had it I thought it was the answer to all my problems. I'm also seeing another ENT next week and I will not be leaving until the check my sinus cavity. I'm terribly worn from this and getting extremely fed up. Does any of this sound like it could be TMJ related?
