TMJ82:

I find it so strange that your splint began to work for about 3 weeks and then stopped. Could this be because it needed to be adjusted? I am looking at a doctor in Chicago who has made his own splint that needs adjusting every week in order for improvements to continue. My last splints pulled my jaw forward and I found out very quickly my jaw was unhappy with that position. It doesnt sound as if you have tried acupuncture or trigger point therapy? I have heard good things regarding these techniques. Or maybe possibly the new high powered lasers for relief of muscle tension?

I do know one thing for sure...be very careful with massage therapists...every time I have seen one they have agravated all of my muscles.

I feel seeing a neurologist would be a very good idea. In fact I am in the process of scheduling an appointment with one. I have just learned to take it one day at a time and be greatful for the things that are good in my life. I dont believe we can be cured but I believe we can find a way to effectively manage our symptoms in a way that allows us to live a full life. It is just going to take us some time to get there. :)
