... Vicodin, Loritab, etc does nothing for my TMJD either. It is more for back problems, knees, that type of problem. You do need to get a doctor to prescribe something to help you sleep. Lack of sleep really adds to the pain of TMJD. Your body stresses out and in turn your muscles and nerves go crazy. ... (8 replies)

... A lot of Doctors are reluctant to prescribe medication for any length of time. A lot of them will tell you they prefer to let the "Pain Clinics" or "Pain Specialist" to handle pain management. ... (15 replies)
... If all else fails, go to pain management. I dealt with this on my own for years. Doctors will not prescribe "much" when it comes to anything to do with pain killers. They are afraid of losing their licence. A lot of people are left in serious pain because of this. I can see a doctors side, to a point. ... (8 replies)
