The treatment does cost a lot, but also varies quite a bit depending on who you see. The NM orthotic which a NM dentist like David Cook would use is very expensive. The splint like the one I have had much less, but it's a completely different type of splint,... (23 replies)

... The first opinion is the one I started treatment with, no surgery has ever been mentioned by this dentist. He also arranged for me to have an MRI scan, and is using splint and orthodontics, and that part of the treatment is possibly very similar. Why one suggests surgery will be necessary to reposition the disc at some stage, and the other doesn't mention it, I have no idea.... (7 replies)

... Thanks for the reply again  I really want an MRI done, or even a CT scan. The excuse they used at the hospital was that , however much they'd like to give me one for piece of mind, they wouldnt want that much "radiation" given to me, although i recently found out that MRI scans dont give off radiation as X-Rays do!! Im the same with the self-diagnosis. My dentist... (19 replies)

I will be booking an appointment with him shortly. Good luck. (22 replies)
