... I really suggest you don't do botox. Try manual trigger point therapy maybe starting on the back with the lower trapezius muscles which refer to the neck. Then work on other muscles like the SCM etc. ... (7 replies)

... The SCM is close to the carotid artery and you can't just go anywhere you want to there. Also, none of these PT's would feel for trigger point referral before finding a spot to needle. The second one said that is how he would do it, but he never would. ... (8 replies)

... Don't stress too much about it....IMO, what you are experiencing may be temporal tendonitis....which basically means that you have spasms and trigger points within your temporal muscles, and maybe the masseter, and SCM muscles as well. Have you been under a lot of stress? ... (3 replies)

There are two books I have bought, one is called "Taking Control of TMJ" and one is the "Trigger Point Therapy Workbook"...both have good ideas for muscle work that you can even do yourself and changing other habits to assist you. ...
