I had the foley catheter removed this morning. To anyone having this procedure I must strongly advise you to ask your doctor to be put under anesthesia before having this removed. When the nurse removed the catheter, it was sheer AGONY.
My urethra is still healing and is sensitive so when she took it out, it felt like the catheter had teeth on... (66 replies)

Update 1 week after surgery:
Even though my full energy level is not restored yet, I feel much more "alive" than I did one week after the stage 1 surgery. It was the 5 days of restricted bed rest that did me in then, but this time since I was able to get up in the hospital, I find myself still tired, but not entirely wiped out either.
