I understand an ablation is where they caurterize the uterus, which reduces the blood vessels. You should feel the difference quick (or at least that is what I thought) and should not be bleeding. ... Reba73 - Thanks for responding. I am definately perimenopausal. I almost think having my tubes tied and then having the ablation sent me there early then expected. I never had bleeding or inconsistent periods before. Maybe turning 40 (2 years ago) really made a difference. I can't imagine going through this for another 10 years. ... Absolutely have the procedure. You may catch something before it is too late. I had a sonogram and it showed abnormal growths in my uterus. It was biopsied and cancerous. Not that you should fear such a diagnosis, but your doctor is being proactive and that is commendable. (27 replies)

... You are welcome Reba.........I know you must be scared as I am, too. Did you have a biopsy done? I did have a biopsy and it came back ok....but seems I read somewhere that the biopsy is done from a couple of snips of the endometrial lining and maybe the snips the docs get doesn't necessarily get the area <of cancer cells>? Maybe I am just a worry wart? LOL I will be glad... (27 replies)
... Please let us know how it goes for you. My doc wants me to schedule a Hysterscopy and ablation do to heavy periods and thickening of the endometrium. I did have a biopsy of the endo and it came back fine. I am a little nervous to have the other procedures done. ... (27 replies)
