... I just wanted to say that I had dx. of endometriosis for years and had so much abdominal pain that after I had the hysterectomy that it was such a relief. I have a turned uterus...I'm 47 and I have always had a turned uterus...what it CAN mean is a more difficult child birth....the thickened lining...depending on your age could mean a couple things...young, maybe prepared for child rearing and thickened lininngs occur during menopause. I also had a thick lining mine was 19mm and so I had a biopsy by a D & C and mine turned out not cancerous so there is a good chance you do not have cancer. I know waiting is hard and your mind (if its anything like mine) tends to think the worse but from what I understand is uterine cancer is highly curable when caught in its early... (4 replies)
... Reba73 - Thanks for responding. I am definately perimenopausal. I almost think having my tubes tied and then having the ablation sent me there early then expected. I never had bleeding or inconsistent periods before. Maybe turning 40 (2 years ago) really made a difference. I can't imagine going through this for another 10 years. ... if your mood swings, anxiety, migraines etc. could be due to perimenopause symptoms, I don't know much about not producing progesterone and I don't know why the lining would grow back but I guess it can. I did have a biopsy and it came back ok....but seems I read somewhere that the biopsy is done from a couple of snips of the endometrial lining and maybe the snips the docs get doesn't necessarily get the area ? ... no doc after having a long episode of bleeding. Had blood work done and pelvic and vaginal ultrasound. Had a biopsy as well. Uponthe pelvic exam, she told me the lining was too thick also.
