... Gardasil might help protect against 2 stands out of a hundred. Only 3% of women only get these two strands and often the infection can be remedied before it becomes cancerous. The chemicals injected into the body is not worth the small chance. ... I don't really think they even need the shot unless they're sexualy active. but you're the parrent so i guess it depoends on how much you trust them. I wouldn't put them through it unless you really feel like you need to, but i guess i'm biased because (as you can see by my name) i'm a needle phobe. (4 replies)

... Just a guess here but I would think that the clinical trials revealed that getting the vaccine in the deltoid muscle was more effective than giving it in the fatty tissue. Since it's given to school age kids, often times in mass vaccinations, it's also probably easier to administer in the upper arm. As in all vaccinations, some may experience varying degrees of soreness while... (4 replies)
... I have two daughters 13 & 18 y.o. I had heard the Gardisil vaccinations often caused a lot of soreness so I asked for the RN to use the ventral gluteal site. She said only deltoid & thigh were recommended and she only felt comfortable with deltoid... I looked it up and sure enough that's what the company literature says. What is the rationale for this?
