I had the NovaSure done almost 2 years ago. And at first, it was great. And it still is to a point now, but it wasn't quite what I had hoped it would be. I had horribly heavy periods after my son was born, and after having my tubes tied. Blood would just run down my legs, it was horrible. So in that respect, it did stop that, thankfully. But now my periods are so screwed up. For the first year after having it done, I had horrible PMS symptoms, just never really had much of a period. My breasts were so sore and tender non-stop. Now I get my periods...but sometimes I get them after 28 days, sometimes it's 50 days. And somtimes they are light, and sometimes heavy. So they are very unpredictable. And I have had a side effect of heavy cramping. But if it means no heavy bleeding, then I'll take it. So I would recommend it if you are having heavy periods, cause it really does help that. The other side effects that some do get, like me, are annoying but I guess it's give and take. Getting rid of the heavy bleeding is worth it in the end.

If you don't mind my asking, how old are you? I wonder if some of these symptoms could be menopause or perimenopause?

I ask because I just turned 50. I have no signs of menopause, unfortunately, b I have noticed also that my PMS is much worse, but my logic tells me there should be no change since no ovaries have been removed. I'm thinking our hormones shouldn't be affected by this procedure, but I too feel worse PMS than I did prior to the procedure. My periods (or what's left of them) are still very regular though, however the breast tenderness, cramps and mood seem worse.
