I'm a 20 year old female and for a little over 2 years now I have had horrible periods. I have always had very irregular periods ever since I got my period when I was 11. I went to doctors that said that it was normal and that I would get regular eventually. During my senior year of high school I started to have 2 periods a month and then sometimes I would go for up to 3 months without one. The bleeding and cramping would get so bad sometimes that I wouldn't even be able to go to school. Things just seemed to be getting worse though. I started having mood swings, dizzy spells, hot flashes, cold chills, intense cramping, and bleeding so bad that I had to change tampons every 20 to 30 minutes. I went to the doctor in February 2007 and she put me on Yasmin 28. She said that it would make those symptoms go away after 3 months. It has been one year since then and my symptoms have only gotten worse. Getting in to see a gynecologist has almost been impossible. By the time I realized that I wasn't getting any better and decided to go back in to see a different doctor, I tried to make an appointment and was told it would be 4 months before they could see me. I made the appointment and now I'm waiting anxiously. It's getting harder and harder to deal with. It's affecting my life in so many ways, so much that sometimes its too overwhelming to deal with. Is there anyone that can help me?
Here are my symptoms...
heavy bleeding
extremely bad cramps
shooting pains in abdominal area
pain during intercourse
dizzy spells
bloating
food cravings
mood swings
extreme body temperature changes including hot flashes and cold chills
frequent headaches and body aches
always tired
anxiety and tension

These symptoms usually develop one week before my period and continue throughout the week of my period. This happens month after month and I just don't know what to do anymore. I was hoping someone on here could help. If anyone has any ideas of what is wrong with me and what I could do before my appointment I would appreciate it so much!
