Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

Acid Reflux / GERD Board Index

And yes, LPR can cause stomach problems, just typically much less so than GERD. I can get heartburn with my LPR, but very very infrequently. I'm more apt to notice a lot of tenderness and sensitivity where the lower esophageal spinchter muscle is. If I get a stomach virus, it causes the stomach problems to get much worse. But mostly I have the classic LPR problem - a chronic dry cough from acid on the larynx, that is relieved very well with 2 Nexium per day.

I still have to be careful - diet plays a big role in managing the condition along with the meds. Alcohol makes me cough like crazy, so does any kind of deep-fried foods, and even many sauteed foods.
