Acid Reflux / GERD Message Board

Acid Reflux / GERD Board Index

I have tried everything possible just about, over the counter, nexium, and prevacid.
The funny thing is the only acid reducer that I found helped the most is over the counter walmart brand of Zantac. It has the active ingredient rantadine (spelling?) in it.
I asked my doctor what I could take over the counter and asked about Zantac, he said no, use over the counter Prilosec. Is there some reason he doesn't want me taking Zantac or walmart brand or is that just his opinion on what works the best?
Well my stomach constantly burns but to me it doesn't seem like common acid reflux or heartburn or GERD. My stomach burns down low around my belly button area and my stomach becomes very hard and bloated for no reason at all. Tonight I tried drinking some cranberry juice and gatorade because today is a very bad stomach day for me. My stomach has been burning all day, I haven't taken anything because I have given up trying to find relief. Well over the the right side of my stomach, just above and over to the right of my belly button to get specifically which area, well my stomach really bloated up in that area. I could touch my stomach and feel that part of my stomach more bloated and harder than the rest. What area is this? Why am I bloated more in one area than another?
My husband was rubbing my stomach in the same general area last night because I was feeling kind of queasy, I never had the nausea feeling in all of the two years I've been having stomach/digestive related issues until about 2 weeks ago. I get waves of nausea, never severe enough to vomit though.
Well he was rubbing my belly for me and he said in the same general area where I am burning and swollen that it felt really knotted up. Well when he really pressed down and rubbed harder I got even queasier.
What is going on? Can some one give me advice?
Is this classic heartburn, GERD, acid reflux? I don't even know what to call it.
Would I have the burning feeling that low in my stomach or is it something else?
Please help!
