It could be related to acid. Sometimes acid blockers don't help much with LPR symptoms, not totally sure why.

Non-drug options for reflux include eating frequent small meals, eating slowly and chewing well, sitting or standing up straight for an hour or two after meals. Identifying and avoiding trigger foods is also helpful.

Some folks also claim that a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before meals can help trigger the valve at the top of your stomach (the LES) to work better, thus reducing acid reflux. My reflux tends to be intermittent and stress-related. When I tried the vinegar, diluted in a half cup of water, it didn't do any harm and it might have helped end the bout faster.
