Is this Gerd maybe?
Mar 21, 2011
The past couple of weeks I have been noticing a lump in my throat feeling as well as a choking sensation, and some difficulty swallowing. A couple of times I even gagged when I was not eating or drinking. So I looked up these symptoms and learned about heart burn. I've had heart burn once every so often before, but never payed much attention. So, recently I started really paying attention and did notice that every time I have been burping now, I do feel food coming back up and sometimes it stings.

My throat feels so dry, no matter how much water I take in.
This lump and choking feeling appear after I am done eating, and sometimes right after I get up in the morning (oddly, I wake up feeling fine, and shortly after I am up, it returns without eating or drinking a thing)

I don't seem to have any stomach pain, or pain in the throat really.. its just highly uncomfortable (and scary btw. Feeling like I am going to choke like this)
It really bothers me in the evening and now I am at the point where I can't go to sleep until my body just falls asleep.

So anyway-

lump in throat feeling/choking feeling/dry throat
night time is worse
burping a lot/food feels like its coming back up.. burns sometimes
i am overweight.. (30 year old female)
non smoker

(oh and I initially thought this was an allergy to dairy, but even after cutting that out, the choking/lump feeling remains)

I hope someone can advise. This is pretty scary... and I am terrified of having to go have that tube down my throat, but Im thinking thats what I will need to do.
