... The drug you are taking is a Histamine 2 Blocker or H2Blocker not a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI). PPIs are stronger and you may want to try one of those for a short period of time until you get better. These drugs include Nexium, Prilosec, Protonix, Prevacid and Zegerid and all of their generics.
