... Low stomach acid is fairly common in the elderly. You likely do not have low stomach acid if taking Betaine HCL produces a burning in the stomach. That is the test to find out if your acid is low. I have never gotten the burning feeling, but did get relief from the bloating and belching. ... (5 replies)
