... Hi, I too have the burning sensation in my throat. My voice is HORRIBLE, scratchy and running up and down the octive levels! I have tried Protonix, generic protonix, and am now on Nexium, which my insurance won't cover and it costs the amount of my grocery budget for the month just to fill it! ... Those sounds like classic gall bladder problems. Gerd is usually heartburn and sometimes throat burn, but usually not pain in the right rib cage. I would ask my doctor about possible gall bladder issues. ... (1 replies)
... just wanted to mention that I found Calcium citrate to cause me severe burning. When I have to, I use Calcium Carbonate (Tums). (I read that people with GERD/LPR should not use any citrates...they burn! I also found that I burned horrible on anything with nitrates.) ... That happened to me a lot. The PPIs didn't make the acid go away, but they did relieve some of the burn. Probably means it is working. And yes, you can crush vitamins. Or, better, buy a liquid or chewable, or get it in capsule form so you can just open the capsules and mix it in with some soft food. (17 replies)
