... :cool: Hi Since you are on PPI's abd are iron deficient it would also be of benefit to have your folate vit D and especially your Vit B12 since these are all utilzed by the gut..... My hernia was found a few months ago when I had a barium swallow and then I had an endoscopy in May to determine how big the hernia is and how my esophogus looked. ... Thanks for the tip. I cut the nexium down to every 2nd day a few weeks ago. GI has suggested I keep trying to cut down. My last endoscopy (4months ago) showed a big improvement with very little inflamation. He takes lots of biopsies, all normal, no H-pylori. Glad to hear your doing well, but so long as you are on nexium please ask your doctor to keep an eye on your B12 levels as nexium,pariet and the like can cause b12 problems as they destroy essential acids in the stomach that are important for utilization of b12.......dont want to alarm you but please be aware of this.......... ... Thanks Rainbow for the comments. I'm glad that you are doing better! I did have a complete work-up to determine the cause of my iron deficiency including colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy and blood tests for B12 and a celiac panel and all were normal. I have heard however, that the celiac blood test often is not totally accurate. How did you know you had celiac? I have been... (9 replies)
