I deal with a problem of bumps under my skin about 7-8 times a year. It's usually on one side of my neck or the other, not both. It will start off as a bunch of deep, under the skin hard red bumps very close together that within 2 or 3 days combine. It's very painful and sensitive, but it's also very soft to the touch (like I can push it in a little bit with my finger).

Usually they don't go away for weeks. I'm coming up on week 3 of this one, but it's gotten significantly worse over the past couple of days. Also, they don't ever come to a head, at least the big ones. The smaller one on the left came to a head but it only started off as one bump and never combined with others.

This is really the only acne I have, other than shaving bumps, but it's so irritating and painful that I need to get rid of it. I've been to multiple dermatologists and they've all prescribed Acticlate/Doxycycline and a topical. I've never really seen much improvement from them.

I really don't think this is caused by an external factor, simply because of the location and the timing of the breakouts.

My routine:

-Shower with: Trader Joe's Tea Tree Shampoo, Neutrogena Salycylic Acid 2% Face Wash and Body Wash

-Shower just with water/just rinse face with water depending on tiredness

I know this was a lot but please I'm really sick of this and it hurts. Any questions you have to clarify, please ask away.

Also I should add that one of the lymph nodes behind my ear on that side of my neck is swollen to about the size of a pea. Not sure if that's significant, but there's no sign of it happening on the other side of my neck.
