Minocycline help
Jan 17, 2017
I had a bad reaction to tree oil in which my face became inflamed with red bumps that I never had before. I had very mild acne. My doctor prescribed 100mg of minocycline twice a day to get the inflammation down, which it did. I now want to stop the minocycline because I don't want to rely on antibiotics. I be only been on it for a little over a month so I'm hoping it has not affected my body yet. I am going to stop the pills and take a front probiotic and an apple cider vinegar drink to balance out my gut flora. i am wondering how long it will take to know I am "in the clear" and know that the mino be out of my system and will not break out randomly. Days? Months? And will my acne come back worse even if was not bad but just to treat an infection?
Minocycline is very safe to take for acne and is widely prescribed. I was on it for 3 years and had absolutely no negative effects.

You probably will start breaking out as the antibiotic leaves your system. Antibiotics are usually flushed within 7-10 days from when you stop using them.

You do not have to do all the things you mentioned- its not necessary, but if it makes you feel better it also cant hurt you.

For some people the only way to control breakouts is with antibiotics.

Good luck!
