to answer your question, yes, i had a pretty bad initial breakout while taking b5....but you just have to hang in there and weather the storm...

i am so glad i did!! now im heading towards week 6 and my skin is practically clear, excepr for some dark spots here and there..i have only 1 noticiable bump on my face and that one is dying out...
That's awesome - I'm so happy for you.
How much B5 are you taking and how many doses per day?
Are you doing anything else for your skin, i.e. cleanser, exfoliator, masks?

I think my initial breakout is clearing, and I've only gotten one new spot in the last few days. I've been on B5 for about 4 weeks now.

i am taking 9-10 grams of b5 daily split up into 4 doses...for each dose i take 5 pills...when i had got my initial breakout, i upped it to 12g's and that took care of it..

i dont really use anything else except bp 10%..but im starting to think that i dont even need it anymore...topical treatments never seemed to work for me anyway..eveytime my skin has cleared it has been done from the inside(accutane and b5) topicals may work for some people but for me i feel they are a waste of time, money and skin
