yes, because u don't want to spread bacteria. Also You should go see a dermatalogist for medications and professional advise. In the meantime, you need a good, non-drying/harsh cleanser. I recommend Spectro Jel which is what I am using at the moment. I am also using MD Formulations. You might also try OTC products such as Benzoyl Peroxide cream such as Persagel (Clean and Clear). But since you have cystic acne and very oily skin, I think only prescriptions will help you much.

Hi, I feel for you. I have had cystic acne for years, had to go on Accutane 3 times. It really is the only thing that works for cystic acne because it comes from within, and leaves bad scarring.I may get an occasional pimple but rarely a cyst. If I do I just go into my dr. right away and she injects it before it fills up and it is gone by the next day, thats if I get there right away. I don't think there is any product out there that will help. Sometimes they would tell me to hold a hot(not too hot) washcloth on it for as long as I could and that would bring some of the swelling down. Most of all don't try to pick at it, it only makes them worse. Your best bet is to see a dermatologist and do it right before you have scarring. They will help you! And Accutane is the best they could have come out with as far as acne goes. The side effects aren't as bad as you hear but the end results are great.
Good Luck!
Debbie
