Personally if you're looking for natural looking skin, retin a is not the way to go. It thins the lining of the skin and almost always causes severe dryness, irritation, and an ugly blood red color (and with all these usually comes oily skin leading to deeper pimples.)

Ah, don't listen to that... Besides, what does he mean by "natural looking skin" anyway? Would you rather have natural looking skin with zits, or beautiful smoother skin with no zits? Ha!

It will cause irritation and dryness at first, but your skin should get used to it!
Yes, it does thin the skin's outer layer. That is what it is supposed to do. It gets rid of skin that can contribute to clogged pores that lead to zits!
