Help for you
Jul 29, 2004
I never had severe acne growing up, just the usual pre-teen stuff, but as an adult of twenty six, I ran into some serious issues. When I was twenty four I started getting a form of adult acne. I don't know what brought it on but I was breaking out and getting cyst like acne that wouldn't go away for months. Could have been a change in cleaner (started using Mary Kay products) or could have been stress. I don't know, but the next year I was getting married and that worried me. It continued from Missouri to California to Nevada. I had it when I got married last summer. It was leaving scars and doing a number on my self-esteem(to make matters worse, I am a picker). My doc here in NV gave me a prescription for a cream that has worked wonders. Not only do I not get cysts, but never break out anymore. It is a cheaper cream, with ins. I pay ten dollar copay. So, wanted to pass this cream on and some other suggestions.
The cream is called Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% 5% sulfa. My doc said NOT to over do cleansing products and not to use mattifying creams, lotions, or makeup. So, here is what I use:
I use Neutrogena Deep Cleaning or acne prone cleanser, Oil fighting astringent and my cream. I use Stay Matte powder from Clinique (not a mattifyer and oil-free) and just recently started using a tint foundation, oil free from Revlon (I think) I have extrememly oily skin and these products really help. Another thing that keeps acne at bay, using oil blotting tissues instead of applying more powder. I use the Clean and Clear tissues. I found they worked better than the high end ones. So, wanted to pass this on, hope it helps someone!
