Accutane ???
Sep 30, 2004
I am currently on accutane, and what is the best cleanser and moisturizer?
I keep on reading cetaphil, is that the cetaphil gentle skin cleanser? Also the cetaphil moisturizer that every one talks about -is that the moisturizing lotion or is it cream because the lotion looks like it would be for the body. Also if there are anymore recommendations that would be great-Thanks a lot!!

Hi Ginna,

When I was on accutane, I used the cetaphil gentle cleanser and the moisturizing lotion. I never tried the cream. I'd only use the cleanser at night and then moisturize. In the morning, I'd only splash water on my face and then moisturize. I dried out pretty easily and the moisturizer worked great for me.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer. There is one for the body and one that is specifically for face... But they are both non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) so either would probably do fine.

Personally I like Purpose Dual Moisturizer w/ spf15. I like the way it goes on better than the cetaphil.

As far as the cleanser goes, don't use the cetaphil face cleanser for normal/oily skin. It is drying (even without accutane) and scented. The regular gentle cleanser is better.

I don't know...I kinda find cetaphil to be a little greasy feeling when you put it on, but if it's noncomedagenic and it works for keeping my face clear and moisturized while I'm on accutane then I'm going to use it anyways.

Yea, Cetaphil would probably be your best bet.

Yeah i know what your saying, you know what else I like it's called Clean and Clear Oil-Free Shine Control Moisturizer, but its not fragrance free but it smells good.It says on it, no greasy feel, wont clog pores, and absorbs excess oil.
