I would definitely say that the MAC makeup was a contributing factor. I was told after I stopped using the makeup that it is not good to wear as an all day makeup. It was used mainly for photo shoots and theatrical makeup. In fact, a couple of weeks ago a secretary at my dermatologist office told me that they use an ingredient in MAC makeup that was in AGENT ORANGE during the war. The soldiers, when exposed to Agent Orange, would come back with acne over their entire bodies. She said to avoid MAC makeup at all costs. She reads a lot of articles about cosmetics and other related things. The cosmetic industry states that it is the worst makeup line to use for the average person. I wish I had known then. By the way, I used MAC's Studio Fix as my primary foundation. I still use their eye shadow and lip stick.
The secretary at my dermatologist office made a general statement about having that ingredient in the cosmetics. I am not sure if it is all of their cosmetics or selected ones. All I know, I am not going to use that makeup. Plus, I have had skin specialists tell me the same thing, that MAC makeup is the worst makeup to apply to the skin. Don't get me wrong, I am really bummed about it. It was the only makeup that I used that felt good on my skin and covered all the flaws really well. Oh Well, I have noticed that makeup that covers the acne and is easy to apply usually is not good for the skin. Bummer!!!!!
